Mold Assessments

A mold assessment is a visual inspection of any mold damage. If mold is present, we will advise of possible causes and any sources of water leaks that could be contributing to the mold. Val Tec Home Inspections, LLC does not offer mold testing at this time but we will recommend companies specializing in mold testing and removal if mold is present at the time of the home inspection.

Blower Door Testing

A blower door test is conducted as part of an energy assessment of your home and helps determine a home's airtightness. Val Tec Home Inspections, LLC is a certified blower door technician available to help with testing of new home builds and construction projects. Also energy efficient diagnostics for older homes.

Water Testing

Understanding what makes up the compounds in your water, is one of the first steps in making your home a healthier place to live. During the test, we will check for bacteria, pesticides, metals and radiology levels. Let us check your well water to ensure it is potable and safe for you and your family.

Insect Assessments

Wood-Destroying insects could cause major structural damage if not identified and taken care of right away. Val Tec Home Inspections, LLC will look for evidence of these pesky insects and advise you of any pre-exisiting damage. Types of insects include but are not limited to termites, carpenter ants, and powderpost beetles. Let us tell you if there are any insects in your home that are causing structural damage.

AirBNB Safety Inspections

Get a safety inspection for your AirBNB rental to ensure guests the safest experience when staying with you. We will provide a inspection report for you to share with guests. Includes testing of carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors as well as fire extinguishers.

Well Flow Testing

When purchasing a house, you want to be sure your well is performing at a sustainable rate. Val Tec Home Inspections, LLC tests a well flow (gallons per minute) and pressure (psi) over a short period of time. This test does not determine the depth of the well or the capacity of the well casing since those areas are not easily visible or accessible. 

Thermal Imaging

Thermal imaging shows thermal abnormalities. Thermal imaging uses an infared camera to detect temperature differences in the walls and ceiling. It also looks for water and moisture that may be inside the walls.
